Re: uninsured Driver

You are personally liable for the results of the accident and your driver's license could be suspended. You are supposed to report an accident to the DMV on an SR-1 if property damage exceeds a certain amount or there is personal injury. The person's insurer will probably reimburse the other driver for costs of repair and personal injury. Once that happens, the insurance company will have three years to come after you for the money. In addition, if there are hospital bills over the uninsured motorist coverage, you will be liable for those expenses, as well.
