Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

Hello,

A nanny that was working for our family for two months went to the police accusing my husband of sexual advances. We found out through her father that called me and described some of the things she said happened. The allegation is false and came right after I've warned her a couple of times for taking my son to stranger's houses and places that she did not tell me about but he did. For two weeks after his call nothing happened but now we have a letter from the police inviting my husband to an interview. We are wondering if we should retain counsel for this interview or talk to the police first before we do that? Please advice, we are taking this matter very seriously but know that there is no basis for her accusation although we are still stunned at the severity of her reaction to the reprimands.

Do not go to the police station or speak to the police. By that I mean, do not speak to the police!!! Do not consent to a search or admit the police into your home. Do contact a lawyer in your area just in case. In any encounter with the police say nothing except that you want a lawyer.

I second what Mr. Stone suggests. It never is beneficial to speak to the police without representation if you're suspected of having committed a crime!
