How do you know you have not gotten anywhere? Have you discussed your case with your lawyer recently? Give him/her a call and ask about the status of your case.

Good luck.

Re: How long should a law suit take

Such case requires timely filing with DFEH, which you apparently have done. It then requires a lawsuit be filed within the one year maximum limit specified in the 'case closure letter' from DFEH. Look at that letter's date warning. Unless the case was timely filed in court, you have a problem called 'legal malpractice'. If the lawsuit was timely filed, contact the attorney to determine what is going on. From the time a lawsuit is filed, it is supposed to be brought to trial within approximately one year, or risk having it thrown out of court. If, after your research, you determine you need legal help, feel free to contact me if the case is in SoCal.
