Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

Needing advice.

I work in a very large medical office and recently myself and two other girls were haveing a conversation and joking around. My friend made a comment to a co-worker about this co-workers friend being a stocker because she went to her house early one morning and put a coffee in her car so that this co-worker would have it for on her way to work. After that comment I said, ''maybe she wants you!'' We all laughed including the co-worker, but come monday morning the girl who took the coffee to the co-worker had confronted me about saying what I said. I told her that we all were playing and she didn't want to her that, so she went to our supervisor who then came to me and express her concerns with the comment I had made, She proceeded to tell me that the girl who took coffee to the co-worker could file a sexual harassment case against me for saying that.

I am unsure still what exactly was told to this girl to get her so upset. Normally we all joke around including the one who got her feelings hurt. Is this really considered sexual harassment?

Re: Needing advice.

It may be. The employer should conduct an investigation which should include talking to all particpants and witnesses and determine whether this conduct violated the facility's harassment policy.
