my husband dies do I need to be 65 yrs old to collect on his ssi benifits?

First of all I am sorry to hear of your husbands death.

The easy answer is no, you do not have to wait until you are 65. You need to call the local Social Security branch office and advise of your hasbands death and fill out the appropriate paperwork. If you are disabled yourself, you may qualify for higher benefits.
