Legal Question in Tax Law in California

Hand over corrected W-2s or no settlement

I worked with a small company (husband and wife partnership) for almost 3 years, I was classified as an Independent Contractor. I was fired with money owed and sought an attorney. Attorney said I was an employee the company said I wasn't so I had filed an SS-8 with the IRS and was reclassified as an employee and was told by IRS to file amendments for those years, I did. Now during mediation with this company they said they would pay a settlement if I give them a copy of my tax returns before and after the amendments, I refused. Then they changed it to just getting the corrected W-2s so that they can make sure that their amendments of those years match mine. Unless I do this they will not settle. Something doesn't feel right about this. Does it sound like something is wrong with this picture?

Re: Hand over corrected W-2s or no settlement

this is a question for the attorney who gave you the advice to file the SS-8 or the attorney who represents you in the settlement negotiations.
