How much of inheiretence is taxable?

Not quite sure what you are asking... currently anything over 2 million dollars is subject to estate tax (up to 45%). In 2009, that amount increases to 3.5 million, in 2010 there is no estate tax, and in 2011 the excemption amount currently returns to the 1998 level of 1 million.

If you are asking about income tax that the beneficiary would have to pay... their is generally no income tax associated with inheritance. However, in certain types of distributions from certain types irrevocable trusts, or property that has income generated after the death of the decedant, their might be some income tax involved.
