Legal Question in Tax Law in California

I owe taxes from 12 years back and now want to start business

There are two of us that want to start a business and i owe back taxes since 1990 maybe $200,000. The other person owes child support maybe $42,000. Is there a way to venture into a business without fear that the goverment will want everything. Does a parternership shield us or what may we do. Thanks George

There is nothing that you can do to hide your assets from the IRS. You need to address the problem with them, perhaps through an offer in compromise, and get this behind you.

Your friend with the child support arrearages might even have more problems. I don't do that area of the law.

If you start making money they may come in.

You should consider an OIC now.
