Legal Question in Tax Law in California

In a not for profit youth sports association, is it against the law or IRS regulations to give appreciation awards to volunteer board members (awards are like a shirt w/logo, or backpack w/logo, etc. less than $50 each, only 1 per person). No board members are paid any salary and serve for a minimum two year term.

It is perfectly fine to give logo items of nominal value. This is really a form of marketing/advertising. This will not affect your non-profit status.

I hope this helps!
