Legal Question in Tax Law in California

Taxes due

Five years ago + we sold a mobile home this was our first sell and belived we only needed a bill of sale for protection we were wrong there is past taxes due in our name because the lady never put the mobile in her name and she defaulted on space rents and the park took her to court for abandonment and past rents they then sold the mobile so were left with back taxes & bad credit reports. The mobile home attorney said it was my problem, they sent Us court paper! witch we never recived since we were back east at the time. can you tell me how to fix this or am I stuck paying her taxes..they also say that the man who bought the newly remodeled mobile junked it but they have no proof to show me just say the man lives in the mountains.....

Thanks for having this site I'll waite for you responce.

Re: Taxes due

Are the taxes which are due real estate property taxes, or vehicle taxes? They can go either way in California.

Next, I would need to see your original sales paperwork and what your rental agreement said.

The fact that the woman lived in the park for 5 years may put the mobile home park in a situation that they cannot now come back to you for back rent, because they permitted the person to stay there after you moved.

There are a lot of "depends" in this situation.
