Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I got 2 speeding tickets in 2 days, what should I do?!

Hi, I recently received 2 speeding tickets in 2 days at the same place and around the same time, but from 2 different cops. Is there anything I could do to save myself and my DMV record? Some of the advices given to me include: I should plead guilty to the 1st ticket and just pay the fine and go to traffic school, but for the 2nd ticket, there is no way the judge will give me traffic school, and it is highly likely that it will go on my records, so I might as well just plead not guilty and ask for continuance and pray the cop won't show up. Is this the best way? Or should I plead guilty on both tickets and beg the judge to have mercy? Would he relax the punishment a little? I am very very desperate right now. I would really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Thank you for your posting.

As someone that had a lot of speeding tickets when I was younger (before I became an attorney), I found out that fighting the charges normally works in your favor. For one thing, the county doesn't have the resources to take every traffic case to trial, and for another thing, often the judges will be more lenient with a sentence after seeing your side of the story presented, even if you lose.

I would fight both cases, and traffic cases are filled with great defenses and normally a lack of compentent prosecution. I have fought many traffic cases and won on behalf of clients.

I hope that this answer helps, but if you have other questions, need more information, or feel that you need legal representation, please contact me directly via email at [email protected]. Im happy to help in any way that I can. Best of luck.
