Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I would like to know if there is an electronic signature law in the California government. At the moment, I am out of the country and the place that I am staying at does not have printing or scanning resources. I received a traffic ticket citation in California just before I was out of the country. So now I would like to know if I can sign the Request for Trial by Written Declaration (form TR-205) form by electronic after filling it out online. Can I ask my friend who is in USA to print it out and mail the form to court for me? Thank you.

Unless the Request requires a signature under penalty ofperjury, you can have anyone sign on your behave [XXX by YYY as XXX is out of the country]. Any statements made in the Declaration will have to be signed by you personally.
