Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

handicap violation

Hi,

I was cited for displaying a handicap placard that did not belong to me. I just would like to know what I need to plea in order for this to be kept off my record, and also what the fine might be for a violation like this.

Re: handicap violation

Thanks for your inquiry.

I don't know what county you are in, but the assessments in certain courts make up the final fee or total fines that you will have to pay. You may not have a record, depending upon the exact code section charged. You may be able, if you can show that there is a valid reason, and a lesser statute that applies, to negotiate with the officer, judge, or district attorney/prosecutor, to plea to a different charge.

Thank you again, and if you have further questions, need more detail, or want assistance with your case, please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected], or via phone at 1-877-568-2977 (that's a toll free number). I'm happy to help in any way that I can.
