What do you mean "clear the ticket?" Are you supposed to either go to court, or appear somewhere to show proof of compliance? Without seeing the ticket, I do not know what the requirements are. Some jurisdictions have different requirements. Some fix -its are warnings, others require you to actually take the car in for examination. I would say that if there is something on the ticket telling you how to submit proof, no one will know what you have done with the car unless you let them know. Without doing further research, or knowing any more specifics, I think you would have to follow whatever procedure is stated on the ticket but instead of bringing/showing proof of the fix, you bring/show proof of the sale or junk. Just giving the car away will not 'fix' the ticket in it of itself, unless it was just a warning.

Hope this helps a little.
