Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I received a notice from the gc services? telling me I owe them 525 dollars for a delinquent ticket I never paid. The last ticket that I received was in 2007 driving to work and I remember paying. So when I called the number on the bill they said it was a ticket I had gotten back in May of 2004 . I told them that I paid it back then and the gentlemen on the phone said the only way I would not have to pay it again was if I could show proof that I paid it. I was 19 years old in 2004 and didn?t keep any real records, from my small amount of understanding of the dmv records shouldn?t I have warrant out for my arrest or something, five years is a long time. Please help with any information you can provide thank you and best regards

You need to call gc services and either pay the citation if you can, or set up payment arrangements, if they accept them. Until the debt is satisfied, it will remain as a warrant and may effect your driving priveledge,(they may suspend your driver's license). Pay it is my advise. Dave Wallin
