Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Today my mother wanted to go to the store to buy gifts so after the store she felt really sick. I did my driver ed classes i was just waiting for the proof to come in the mail so i can go to the DMV and get my permit. My house was like 10 mins. away so i told her i would drive. When i was driving home i wanted to make a left and i was on the right line so i put my turn light on and looked a my mirror really fast and i didn't see any one there so i made a fast turn thats when the cop pulls me over and makes my mom drive and gives me a ticket for not having a permit 112500(a) and unsafe turn 121658(a). What should i do should i go get permit before court (CAN I). What can i tell the judge so he go easy on me i don't want to wait till im 18 to drive."I'm 15 1/2 i did my driver ed classes.

I can't find the exact legal citation, but if you can show that it was a medical emergency and there were no reasonable alternatives, you could raise what is called a "necessity defense." See Vehicle Code 12814.6 (16 year old with provisional license may drive in emergency situations). Best guess you'll only have to face the unsafe lane change charge, if that. Good luck.
