Legal Question in Veterans Law in California

I was injury while on active duty . And have lod document.To establish truth in what happen that day. And that the injury resulted in me having surgery to remove metal plate and screws that had been in place for many years from a fall i had as a younger man the va has denied my calim but the fact of the matters that i unload a conex box full of tent poles and como nets that where very heavey and my knee became very swollen and i was sent to an air force doctor who sent me to a civilian orhtopaedic surgeon and i had surger 2 weeks later i'am in pain and would like them to take resoponsiblity for this injury while on active duty regardless . I was working on there watch .
