Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

So it appears the my fathers estate is insolvent, is it possible to file a bankruptcy for the estate so that the family home can be saved. There are outstanding tax liens recorded against the property for past unfiled years that may not reflect the actual tax debt that was due, utility liens, and 1 year of property tax that are unpaid, but it doesn't seem as though there are any other creditors.

I disagree with Mr. White. You have posted enough information.

The answer is NO. An insolvent probate estate is not allowed to file bankruptcy. (See 11 U.S.C. � 109.
