assignments of rights
My former husband and I agreed he sould assign his rights to his father's estate for a specified monetary settlement. The word assignment was used in the hallway agreement, but not in the courtroom. he said tthat my settlement would come from any monies he recieved from his father's estate would come to me first. He breached and died. will my rights stand up afer he has died ?

It depends on the wording of your Marital Settlement Agreement as filed with the court. Consult a family law attorney.
