Re: Where Is Name Change Recorded??

If this was done with a court order, you would find it in the hall of records for the county where it was changed. Otherwise, if the person just started using the new name, perhaps other items could be used to prove it, such as a declaration or marriage certificate.

Re: Where Is Name Change Recorded??

Names are changed for any number of reasons, marriages, divorces, adoptions, and the old faithful 'I don't like my name.' However, an 'affidavit' by someone that has personal knowledge of the person whose name was changed may be sufficient. Otherwise I'll have to know more of the circumstances to advise you on how to find an official record.
