When contesting a will in CA. do I file the original documents or can I file copies?

Specifically another will.

You are advised to obtain the assistance of probate litigation counsel to file the objection/contest to the will that is being probated, and the original will need to be filed with the protesting petition.

The original of a will should be lodged with the court. But where you are also contesting a will, there are certain guidelines and time limits for you to do so. I would at least suggest a consultation with a probate litigation attorney as pointed out by Mr. Waid.
