credit card debt postmortem
My father has credit cards in his name only. After his death will my mother be responsibility for this debt?

I depends upon whether the debts incurred were for the "common necessities of life." A spouse has an obligation of support to another spouse and is liable for those types of expenses even without a signed agreement.
