Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My Father passed away in July. Seven years ago he put his cabin in trust for my Brothers and Sister. Dad passed away in the hospital and had no Medical coverage other than Medicare. Medicare will pick up 80 percent. Can the hospital come after us for the remainder when all my Dad had left was his truck (valued at 2500 Dollars) and the Cabin that was put into trust for us? Can they take the cabin?

I am truly sorry to hear of your father's passing.

They can make a claim against it as it is part of his estate. Howevr, they are always willing to negotiate the amount and sometimes leave primary homesteads alone. This will depend on the facts of your situation. I will need more facts to provide a better assessment.
