Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My father passed away this last week, he was in a facility for Alzheimer's . My brother texted me the news of his passing and went on to trll me hospice called him 3 days prior to his death to let him know how grave his condition was and when I asked why he didn't tell my sister and I he said ly "sorry". Now my brother is executor to my fathers estate he had a living trust and I know that he put money aside. For each of my siblings. My father owned two homes and an aparent building all together worth about 6 million. Now my brother won't text me back and heard through an aunt he is not selling one of the hones. I asked for a copy of the trust and still have not received

It. What should I do. My brother surely dheaf on straight

Sorry for your loss.

You need to make a written demand for a copy of the trust. Even if you are not named as a beneficiary, you are entitled to a copy since you are an heir of your father. Then contact an attorney to help you review the trust and make further demands if necessary.

A week is a short time to expect to have much action in a trust administration. It usually takes 10 days to even get a death certificate. You are, however, entitled to a copy of the trust. Send a written request. You may also want to ask if he has engaged counsel to represent the trust. If so, you can also direct your request to counsel.

At that point, if you do not have immediate response, I would suggest you engage counsel to represent you. If you have concerns as to your brothers intentions and abkility to administer the estate, he should be made aware you have representation.
