Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My father has signed a California statutory will that transfers all his assets to me in the event of his death. Does a California statutory will apply to assets that are owned by him in Arizona also? Or do I need to get an Arizona will for those assets?

If your father has a Will, then you will need to go through Probate when he passes and depending on the type of assets and value, you may need to have a second Probate in Arizona in order to transfer that property to you. If he has a Trust, then you could avoid Probate.
