Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Can I find what Grandmother's Will stated as to heirs?

My wealthy grandmother died approx. 12 yrs. ago. My father and uncle were apparently the executors. My siblings and I cannot get an honest answer as to what was written in that will, who the heirs were, etc. We find it highly unlikely that this family-oriented woman left her grandchildren nothing. Knowing the past track record of our father and uncle, we are convinced that they have taken whatever was rightfully ours. Can we get a copy and how is this achieved? What are our legal rights as decendants?

If your grandmother died with a will, a copy of the will is filed in the court in which the estate was probated. It would be in the County in which she resided and in any county in any State in which she had real property if it was in a State other than the State of her residence.

You can contact the court clerk, look up the name on the Probate Case Index, get the number of the file and have the file pulled for your review.
