Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My friend left me some motorcycles when he passed. but all of a sudden they are in his friends name. he had access to all documents. i also have over 10 people that can verify it was his bikes. this person has been known to use the decedants signature as well. -------how can i fight this to get the motorcycles and aproxx how much would this cost.?

I'm sorry for your loss. Did your friend leave the motorcycles to you in his will? Do you estimate the value of the motorcycles as worth more or less than $150,000? Could this other friend have been named as your deceased friend's executor or estate administrator if your deceased friend died without a will? You should at least speak to an attorney. One of the questions that I would have would be when were the certificates of title signed over? You may have an easier case of proving forgery if they were signed after death rather than before death. Any case to recover the motorcycles is going to get pretty expensive, because it would have to be brought by an estate representative.
