Gaurdianship

I am the mother of a 16 yr old daughter, who lost her dad last yr. Do I need a proof of gaurdianship? She is on Social Security in Ca, and she lives with me. Is this a law in san francisco?

Re: Gaurdianship

for what purposes? Unless there is something very unusual, you don't need proof of guardianship if she is your daughter.

Re: Gaurdianship

If she is your natural daughter, all you should need would be a certified copy of her birth certificate for most purposes. You can obtain that at the County Recorder's office (Vital Statistics) in the county of the state in which your daughter was born. Make sure it's a certified copy: In that way it is even admissible in a court proceeding.

Re: Gaurdianship

You should not need anything except possibly her birth certificate. Since she is a minor and you are the mother there should not be any problem.
