Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My husband and I borrowed 20K from a friend and we are concerned that if we should die together how can we make sure our friends will get their money back. Is there some kind of place we could file a written agreement between ourselves and our friends.

You could create a family trust, or will, where they are left a specific devise of the balance remaining on the loan.
