What legal form is used for--- when a homeowner verbally tells a friend who is staying in that home, that if he (the homeowner) were to die the friend would have 45 days to stay in the house (after homeowners death)

Have the friend write it out in his own handwriting and sign it.

Mr. Stone leaves out that it would have to be witnessed. Far better, though, would be to include that provision in a proper will.
