Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I made a will in Maryland and have moved to California. I need to remove Maryland property and add California property. What is the best way to do this?

To avoid Probate, you should really set up a Revocable Trust and related estate planning documents. This will cancel your prior Will. Probate in CA will be expensive and takes usually around a year to complete. It is easily avoidable by setting up a Trust.

Make a new will. You want to be sure it meets California requirements. Wills are very inexpensive, even if drafted by an attorney. You might consider alternatives to avoid probate, or otherwise expedite transfer on death. A consultation will be worth your while.
