Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

mini-probate - real-estate

My ex-husband died 2 years ago. We just found out that he purchased a small lot in Kern County 4 years ago. What would be required in transferring title to his heirs; 2 adult children, my son and a daughter by a subsequent marriage? The lot is probably worth between $8,000 and $10,000. The back taxes come to about $900.00. Is it worth it to hire an attorney or are there forms that we could file without an attorney?

Thanks, Randy
