Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I am in the process of making a final distribution of my Grandmother's Trust. There are 6 beneficiaries (including myself). Four of the beneficiaries are brother and sisters and the other two are our (evil) cousins. My question is this...when I cut their (the two cousins) checks for their portion...can I keep a portion in Trust in case they sue me? They have threatened before and I want to be prepared. It states in the Trust that any and all legal fees are to be paid by the Trust.

It might be a better bet to have them sign a complete release of all known and unknown claims upon receipt of their distribution (and as a condition precedent). Do you have any idea of what their claims may be? Have they stated anything that could give you an idea?
