Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I am doing a pro-per Probate for my mother-in-law.

Her estate consists of a house. She has 3 adult children, 3 deceased children and 20 grandchildren. Eleven of those grandchildren are issue of pre-deceased children.

My question is who are the ones that will inherit the house?

If you are an attorney, you should know how to research a relatively simple question like this. If you are not an attorney, you are committing a crime practicing law without a license, and it would be a serious violation of the statutes and rules governing attorney conduct for any of us attorneys to assist you in that.

The distribution depends on her Will. If she did not have a Will, then it is distributed by intestate succession which means that the grandchildren of the deceased children share the interest that their parents would have received. The estate is split six ways - one-sixth to each living child and one-sixth to each group of grandchildren of the deceased children. So if a deceased child had two children, then those two children would split the one-sixth interest. If a deceased child had three children, then those three children would split the one-sixth interest.
