Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Am I required to be notified about the reading of my mother's will? She has been living with her boyfriend for 10 years and I don't know if he will notify me.

"Reading of the Will" is an outmoded concept. However, if your mother had a living trust, the successor trustee must notify you within 60 days of her death and you have a right to ask for a copy... and if she had a Will, the custodian of the Will must lodge it with the court of the county where she resided (where it becomes public record.) If the Will is probated, you must be formally served with a Notice of Petition for Probate.
