Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Retrival of Deceased Aunt's Possessions

In my deceased aunt's will, my father who later passed away, was appointed the Executor and Receiver of all material items belonging to his sister, my aunt.

It has been established that strangers to my aunt are in possession of her personal writings. They are unable to explain how they came into possession of those writings.

Am I within my rights to try to press to have that material returned to me? (My aunt's will was drawn up in New York and the individuals holding my aunt's writings reside in California.)

This is way too complicated, with far too many unidentified characters and far too many missing details, to be addressed in an email. You really need to go see a good probate attorney. I'd start with one in Texas since that seems to be where you are. Good luck.
