what does "the trustee shall distribute the balance of the trust estate in equal shares to those relatives of trustor`s heirs at law according to the laws of the state of california then in effect relating to succession mean"? My name is on a revocable trust as a relative and the above statement is on this trust, what does it mean? [Edit]

It means if you would inherit under the laws of intestate succession, you would take under the trust.

The answers you got are somewhat reasonable from the excerpts you gave, but it is never a good idea to rely on advice (or to give it Mr. Roach and Mr. Cusack) that is based on only part of a document.
