Define California law for life estates. If other assets such as life ins are exempted in the trust are they still part of the ''life estate'' and under what code?

I believe that you are confused as to terminology. believe you are refering to a living trust not a life estate. An insurance policy is not a living trust assest as it is a contract between the insured and the insurance company. Contact me directly for estate planning.

Life insurance policy generally names beneficiary .. individual, trust, maybe estate by default. could be "life estate" by way of a trust provision if a trust was beneficiary.
