Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

One year ago I created a revocable living trust. As required I recorded a quitclaim deed to place my residence in the trust. I recently married and changed my name. Do I need to revoke the first living trust before I create a new one? And do I quitclaim the property held in one living trust to the next one? Thanks.

You do not need to revoke your trust. You can simply write an amendment stating you were married and your last name has changed. Is it your intent to keep the property as your separate property?

I suggest you contact the attorney who drafted your trust for a review. If you did not use an attorney, you would best be served to contact a local Estate Planning attorney and schedule a consultation. The small cost now will save you in the long run.
