"Future medical," in the worker's comp context, is the predicted value of medical care that you will need in the future, arising out of your industrial injury. As an example, you may have hurt your knee, on the job, and some physical therapy has made it so that you can get back to work. Nevertheless, your doctor may predict that, sometime in the future, your knee injury will require more therapy or surgery. Your workers comp case will consider those future medical expenses.
