Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

i am an independent contracter exotic dancer. what do i do if owner/management are allowing a girl who has confirmend herpies endanger the rest of us by rubbing here naked genetelia all over the pole? what do i do if other girls are wearing lotion and getting the pole and floor slick to the point of slipping and management will do nothing about it? these same people will fire anyone who breathes the words "sue" or "health department"

First of all, you probably are not really an independent contractor, although your boss treats you as such to pay less to you. If the number of your hours, what you must do are basically controlled by your employer, you are paid in part at least by the hour, you have to share tips, you can be hired and fired, etc.-- these are signs of employment and not being an indepedendent contractor.

Can you speak to the woman with herpes to see what can be done by her. Does management know about her and that she might cause a shortage of dancers by people rsfusing to perform? Can you leave an unsigned note telling management of the dangers ans saying yuou heard gossip among the other women that someone might report the situation to the health department. Can you report the situation to the health department with their not giving up your name; otherwise send them an unsigned note. Check if there are any organization that help exotic dancers; I vaguely recall one being set up in SF many years ago.
