Does jurisdiction on a claim fall under the state laws in which the injury occured or under the state laws in which the claim was filed?

I do not understand why you would file in a state other than where you were injured. Even if your employer has business locations in different states, unless your normal business site is in State A and your work required you to go to State B where you were injured [then the law of state A would apply], you would file in the state where you were injured.
