How long should it take to settle a workers comp claim. I filed in June of 05 should it have settled by now? also are lawyers fees taken from total granted?

Any attorney that would attempt to give you a time limit on a comp case is the type you should run from. With that said, there are too many factors to give such an estimate without fully understanding your case. I spoke with one injured worker today who had a case going since 1996. I like to resolve my cases within one year. However, sometimes resolving a case in one year is impossible without compromising the case value.

Attorney's fees are usually 15%, but if you have a good attorney, it is a well spent 15% because quite often the injured worker will receive much less money than what the 15% equals. I would be glad to speak with you further should you so decide. My telephone number is 818.385.0520.
