Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Workmans comp rights

I work for a california company here in massachusetts

I fell and was injured and was being treated and still under doctors care. Doctor has sent my employer that I am unable to work. My company had sales manager call me today saying I was being laidoff. So far I haven't received any wc pay company was paying me, sick leave. Now I am going to be unemployed don't they have to allow me to get 60% of my pay until I am able to work again? I would think the law would protect me, they can just cut me off and make me go away? Please help I don't know what to do. hey are flying some one here thursday to lay me off
