You SHOULD AVOID the surgeon suggested by any adjuster or 'nurse' case manager.

YOU SHOULD have the website for the Medical Provider Network for the comp insurer.

Nearly every comp insurance company has a list of approved doctors called an MPN or Medical Provider Network... and the Labor Code says you can pick any of those.

SO NO, YOU CANNOT JUST PICK ANY SURGEON YOU WANT (unless you are paying your own cash). YOU MUST pick a Medical Provider Network / MPN physician.

But you can switch to any MPN physician at any time.

PROBLEM: 98% of the docs on the MPN are either 'in bed' with the insurer or refuse new patients.

YOU NEED an expert to pick from the 3 or 4 docs in your region on that insurer's MPN list who are real doctors and board-certified surgeons who won't make you worse.

Email me your Comp Insurance Company and I'll see if I can recognize a solid doc on that company's MPN list for you... [email protected] ... then LOOK FOR A CERTIFIED SPECIALIST IN WORKERS COMP attorney ASAP.
