Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Canada

Outstanding loan to Canada from US

I live in Atlanta, GA. I have a debt which went from the bank to a lawyer who is collecting the payments for the money I owe them. They do not send me a monthly statement or an audit trail and I have been paying in good faith. The lawyers in Canada say they don't have to send me a statement. I am not comfortable with this since they are not telling me what I owe them. They have threatened legal action if we don't pay them. What course of action or who should I consult within the US. Since this is an international issue - what type of lawyer should I consult?

It is not an international issue. They will sue you in Georgia. The location of the attorneys is probably irrelevant. Get something in writing regarding how much is owed.
