Hi! Are you still need an answer?

Generally, you need to prepare the following documents:

(i) a statement that shall state your occupation, address, being the spouse of the owner. This statement shall be notarized by your Notary Public and then be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in your country.

(ii) the proof of the death of the owner;

(iii) the will;

(iv) the Power of Attorney, if you entrust someone in China to help you deal with this so that you needn't come.

Since there is no will left, first you have to contact other statutory heirs who are entitled to inherit his heritage, including his children, his parents to decide how to dispose the property.
