Laws against prior employees

what kind of laws exist, against employees who join competitors and then use your customer list and research designs to benefit your competitors.

Is there any way to stop them?

Re: Laws against prior employees

The employees have various duties and you may have protection under trade secret law. Did you have any form of employee agreement as to confidentiality, trade secrets and the like?

To know for sure would require much more information about the employee's positions, the information, the lists and other facts. Feel free to email with further information.

I have not researched this issue. If you did not have a written noncompete or confidentiality agreement with the former employer, you may still be able to assert claims such as breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, etc. Ask yourself how bad is this hurting you in terms of dollars. Most lawyers won't take this on a contigency basis and will charge $200 to $300 an hour. Good luck.
