Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Colorado

fairness

Can a school secretary ro superintendant tell a teacher to not accept a student's work just because it is late or is extra credit? My son was failing one class and the teacher told him to have his missing assignements in by Monday morning and she would still accept it. When the school secretary and super heard about this they called her at home and told not to accept his work. Can they leagally do this?

Re: fairness

If your son did the work in reliance on the teacher's instructions, and attempted to turn it in by the time she specified, she has no basis to refuse it, despite a superior's displeasure with what she did. This of course assumes your son was not notified before he did the work.
