Legal Question in Technology Law in Colorado

Educator liabilites using the interent

I need to find out what the liabilities teachers have in the classroom when they are using the Internet. Many educators have this same question and no one is able to give an answer. Also if you know of any law cases that have been taken to trial that would help alot. Thank you so much!

I really do need some help on this critical issue.

You don't really supply enough information to provide an answer. Liability for sexual harassment? Liability for defamation? Liability for copyright violation? There is an element of risk in each.

Is there a general increase in exposure when taking the class on a field trip? Sure, but it probably depends on where you are taking the kids. In the same way, whether a teacher is liable for exposing classroom children to the Internet depends upon too many factors to discuss in the abstract.

I am not aware of any court opinions considering the liability of teachers for use of the Internet in the classroom.
